SHILLONG: Madanryting CC defeated Megha CC by just one wicket in a close league match of the First Division Shillong Cricket League, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at Polo Grounds on Thursday.
Megha won the toss and elected to bat first, but were bowled out for 127 in 31.3 overs. Pankaj Deb scored 25 runs while Ajay Kumar returned figures of 3-26.
In reply, Madanryting snatched victory from the jaws of defeat by reaching 128-9 in 25.4 overs.
Losing their ninth wicket for 105, the last wicket partnership between Teisang and Praveen added 23 valuable runs that saved the day for Madanryting.
Panku Chetia scored 23 while Pankaj Chanda took 5-30 in his seven overs.
In the next match Malki SCC will take on Venom Speed CC.
