Election notice
The District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills has informed that the telephone number 03652- 221980 has been assigned to the Election General Control Room cum complaint Monitoring Cell. The Election Commission of India has appointed SN Ojha as expenditure observer for the purpose of election monitoring in respect of Nartiang, Jowai, Railang, Mookaiaw and Amlarem constituencies.
Media Centre
The Under Secretary to the State Government, Election Department, and Assistant Chief Electoral Officer has informed that the Assistant Director of DIPR, TG Momin, will be in charge of the Media Centre in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer with immediate effect till completion of the election process. The Media Centre is located at Room No. 243 at Meghalaya Secretariat (Raitong Building).
Painting
The North East Network (NEN) is organizing a painting competition on February 1 for students in the age group of 13-17 years at Anton Hall, Don Bosco, at 10 am. The competition is aimed at creating awareness among young adolescents about issues related to women’s right and gender-based violence. Chairperson of the Meghalaya State Women’s Commission Theilin Phanbuh will be the special guest at the prize distribution ceremony at 12.30 pm.
