Two dead, ten injured in road mishap

 SHILLONG: Two people died on the spot while ten other sustained injuries when a vehicle (Bolero) on its way to Tied Nongbah in West Khasi Hills fell into a deep gorge at Mawlyndep near Mawryngkneng, East Khasi Hills on Sunday morning. The deceased persons identified as Sniawbhalang Sumer and Nidaioh Wan from Umsalait, West Jaintia Hills along with 10 others were on their way to Tied Nongbah to attend the convention of the Church of Christ when their vehicle fell into a gorge at Mawlyndep at 5:30am on Sunday.

According to police, the reason of the accident is still unknown as the injured persons are yet to provide any information of the incident that had transpired. The injured persons were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
