All 232 nominations of N’land found valid

Kohima: All the 232 Nomination Papers submitted by the aspirant candidates for the February 23 Nagaland Assembly elections from various political parties and Independents were found valid.

According to Nagaland Chief Electoral Office sources here today the results of the conduction of Scrutiny of the 12 Electoral Districts were done yesterday, however due to communication gap, some of the districts able to send only by late at night yesterday.

Sources, however said that the list of valid Nomination papers also contained the list of ‘Stand by’ candidates, who will withdraw their Nomination Papers before the last date of withdrawal, tomorrow.

After the withdrawal of the Nomination Papers tomorrow, the exact number of total candidates in the fray would come to light.

The polling for the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be held on February 23 from 7 A.M. to 4 P.M. (UNI)
