SHILLONG: Nongrim Hills SCC was relegated to the second division after its defeat to Venom Speed CC in a league match of the First Division Shillong Cricket League organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at Polo Grounds on Friday. Venom won the toss and elected to bat. The decision seemed to have backfired when the batting side were bundled out for 131 runs in 27.4 overs. However, Nongrim Hills SCC only managed a paltry 102 in reply. Sylvarius wrecked havoc on the Nongrim batting lineup claiming five wickets for 24 runs of his seven overs. Mangal Singh top scored for his side with 28 of 23 balls. Earlier, Kiran Ram scored a steady 26 of 31 balls for Venom while Shanborlang and Sanjay Khan grabbed two wickets each for Venom. Nongrim Hills has been relegated for being at the bottom of the group. The semi finals of the first division will be played on February 15 of Feb where Nongthymmai SCC will clash with Madanryting SCC. Malki SCC will take on Megha CC in the second semifinal on February 16.
