SHILLONG: Three persons including a 15-year-old have been arrested for allegedly abducting and brutally gang-raping an 18-year-old girl at a rented house at Lapalang on Saturday evening.
The accused, arrested on Sunday, have been identified as Hilary Mynsong (18), Vikram Kumar Das (20) and a teenager (15).
According to sources, the girl had come out of the house at 9.30pm on Saturday to go to the toilet when she was abducted. Realising that she was missing, the family members began search and also lodged an FIR on the same night.
“It was only on Sunday at about 10am that people noticed the girl being dragged by two youths towards the Army GTC fencing behind the Power Grid complex. Later, it was confirmed that she had been raped,” the source added.
The girl was hospitalized in an unconscious state.
Meanwhile, the CSWO (Agnes) on Sunday condemned the heinous act and urged the authorities to deny bail to the three accused.
