Hilarius Dkhar: Richest JHADC MDC in fray

JOWAI: Moobakhun Khanduli MDC, Hilarius Dkhar is the richest among the eight JHADC members who are in the fray to contest the State Assembly election due on February 23.

Dkhar, an Independent candidate from Nartiang constituency in West Jaintia Hills, has total movable assets of Rs 40.18 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 5.52 crore approximately based on current market value.

He has Rs 3 lakh cash in hand while his spouse, Sngewkyrmen Paslein, has Rs 1.60 lakh in hand and assets worth Rs 16.07 lakh (movable) and Rs 52.10 crore (immovable) as per the current market value.

Dkhar has not mentioned ownership of any vehicle in his affidavit and his education qualification has been shown as Class III.

Congress candidate from Khliehriat, Amos Dkhar, has Rs 1.30 lakh cash in hand and Rs 39.13 lakh in bank deposits. He owns three vehicles – Mahindra Scorpio worth Rs 7.5 lakh, Maruti Alto worth Rs 1.50 lakh and a Mahindra Marshall worth Rs 2.70 lakh. He also owns a house in Shillong worth Rs 40 lakh with a current market value of Rs 2.5 crore. The total movable assets of Dkhar are worth Rs 52.21 lakh while the immovable assets have a net worth of Rs 4.26 crore based on current market value.

His wife, Sngewbha Siangshai, owns 80 tolas of gold and two non agricultural plots of land worth Rs 7 lakh and Rs 33 lakh respectively. She has total movable assets of Rs 8.60 lakh and immovable assets of Rs 38 lakh.

Dkhar’s educational qualification is mentioned as BA (Hons) from NEHU.

JHADC Deputy CEM, Qually Suiam, Congress candidate from Mowkaiaw constituency, has Rs 45,000 cash in hand and bank deposits amounting to Rs 5470 in SBI Shillong, Rs 2,54,571 in SBI Jowai and Rs 95,000 in HDFC bank.

He owns four vehicles – Mahindra Bolero worth Rs 6.30 lakh, Maruti Swift worth Rs 4.60 lakh and two Maruti Gypsy worth Rs 5.70 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh respectively.

He has 2000 shares with the North Eastern Medical Research Institute, Guwahati valued at Rs 20 lakh. He also owns non agricultural lands at Nongrah, Shillong with an approximate current value of Rs 19.17 lakh, two plots at Kseh Pale and Mihmyntdu worth Rs 48.70 lakh and Rs 7.47 lakh respectively; one plot each at Umlidoh Mihmyntdu (worth Rs 8 lakh), Mookyrdup Ladthadlaboh, Jowai (worth Rs 34 lakh), Pasyih (khloo dein kain) (worth Rs 6 lakh), Lum Thwai at Shangpung (worth Rs 7 lakh) and Iongiala, Shangung Elaka (worth Rs 3 lakh), all purchased.

The total approximate current market value of his immovable assets is Rs 1.33 crore.

His wife, Sniawbhalang Ksoo, a government servant owns a Maruti Gypsy worth Rs 6.12 lakh and two non agricultural lands at Kyndongtuber worth Rs 8 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively, two more at Shohshrieh worth Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh respectively, a three-storey building at Moorkyrdup, Jowai worth Rs 10.29 lakh and a residential building at Nongrim Hills, Shillong, worth Rs 1.25 crore as per the current market value. She is richer than her husband with total immovable assets worth Rs 2.59 crore approximately as per the current market value.

Suiam’s educational qualification is PU (Art) passed from NEHU.

Jowai Central MDC, Moonlight Pariat, an Independent candidate from Jowai constituency, has Rs 1 lakh cash in hand and Rs 10.53 lakh deposit in SBI, Rs 12.37 lakh and Rs 8 lakh in two separate accounts in Axis Bank.

Pariat owns two vehicles – Mahindra Scorpio valued at Rs 3.5 lakh and a Maruti Gypsy worth Rs 60,000. His spouse, Hawabiang Dora Kynjing, operates ten bank accounts including one fixed deposit of Rs 1.30 lakh and one Recurring deposit of Rs 45,000. The remaining are saving accounts with the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank with cash balance of Rs 10,000, Rs 3.25 lakh, Rs 2.20 lakh, Rs 31,000, Rs 1.57 lakh and Rs 1.11 lakh respectively. She also has accounts with SBI with deposit of Rs 73,971, Rs 2,26,824 in UBI and cash deposit worth Rs 45,000 in the post office.

One of Pariat’s dependents has cash Rs 3.21 lakh in MCAB fixed deposit account, Rs 1.04 lakh in Axis Bank, MACB recurring deposit of Rs 26,000, another MCAB savings account with Rs 1.77 lakh and with post office Rs 46,000.

The immovable assets of Moonlight Pariat are worth Rs 36 lakh. His spouse has assets of Rs 15.51 lakh and his three dependents have assets worth Rs 9.26 lakh, Rs 1.32 lakh and Rs 3.33 lakh respectively. His wife has two tolas of gold valued at Rs 75,000 and one of his dependents owns a Bolero worth Rs 2.50 lakh.

Pariat’s immovable assets include non-agricultural land measuring 43.680 sq. mtrs worth Rs 2 lakh and a commercial building at Iawmusiang, Jowai worth Rs 50 lakh, residential buildings in Chutwakhu, Jowai with an approximate current value of Rs 10 lakh and a flat at the National Games Village, Guwahati, Assam with an approximate current market value of Rs 87 lakh, based on the approximate current market value. The total asset acquired by Pariat is worth Rs 96.33 lakh. His wife has total immovable assets of Rs 11.15 lakh.

Pariat’s educational qualification is PU (Sc) from NEHU.

JHADC Chairman, Obil Kyndait, contesting on a UDP ticket from Khliehriat, has Rs 50,000 cash in hand and two SBI accounts worth Rs 6259 and Rs 30,000 while his wife Wanbha Shylla has Rs 50,000 cash in hand and operated three SBI accounts with maximum cash balance of Rs 1.59 lakh, Rs 22,970 and Rs 30,000 respectively.

Kyndait owns a Mahindra Bolero worth Rs 4 lakh while his wife owns a Maruti Car valued at Rs 2.15 lakh. Kyndait owns movable assets valued at Rs 4.92 lakh, less than his wife who owns movable assets valued at Rs 6.94 lakh. Kyndait’s wife also owns immovable assets valued at Rs 45 lakh including inherited assets valued at Rs 10 lakh.

His educational qualification is HSSLC from Assam.

Narpuh MDC Mongol Singh Tyngkra, a UDP candidate from Sutnga-Saipung constituency, has Rs 2 lakh cash in hand while his spouse, Ialamtre Suchen, has Rs 50,000. He also has Rs 1829 cash balance with the Meghalaya Rural Bank, Rs 213 with SBI, Jowai and his spouse, a JHADC Officer, operates four accounts – Rs 14,579 in Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank, Rs 91,234 with UBI, Rs 74,575 with ICICI and Rs 223 with SBI.

The total movable assets of Tyngkra are worth Rs 23.46 lakh and immovable assets valued at Rs 30 lakh while his wife owns movable assets worth Rs 13.68 lakh.

Tyngkra owns a Scorpio worth Rs 9.67 lakh while his wife owns a Gypsy valued at Rs 6.28 lakh.

Interestingly, his educational qualification is PU from NEHU and Doctor of Divinity from International Institute of Church Management Inc., Florida, USA.

The other JHADC members who are contesting in the election are Jowai South MDC Dunno Nongpluh and War East MDC Stephanson Mukhim, both of whom are contesting as Independents from Amlarem constituency.
