Minister proposes construction of museum at Kuzithang

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Minister Pema Khandu has proposed construction of a museum at Kuzithang, under Kharsaneng area of Kitpi circle in Tawang district, bordering China.

The minister on Saturday visited the birth place of the sixth Dalai Lama and met the relatives of the relatives of the Tibetan spiritual leader, official sources informed.

Khandu also visited the main house of Dalai Lama’s mother Mayum Tsewang Lhamo.

The people of the area appealed the minister for support in proper maintenance of the place in view of increased flow of tourist. Khandu promised all possible government support in maintenance of the site. “Lama Losang Rigzin Tsanyang Gyatso,” the sixth Dalai Lama whose name means ‘the ocean of melodious song,’ was among the greatest poets.

The learned lamas revere him as the greatest of tantrics. “He is widely popular in the western nations and even among the far eastern countries. Such being his greatness, we are proud that he was a Monpa and an Arunachalee from our place,” the minister said and urged the residents for proper translation of scriptures for wider understanding of the visitors and preservation of the priceless relics and antiques.
