JOWAI: All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi will campaign in Jowai on Tuesday.
Jaintia Hills District Congress Committee president Gilbert Sten informed that Gandhi will be arriving from Silchar to campaign at Kiang Nangbah Government College playground at 9:30 am.
“She will be accompanied by AICC secretary in charge Meghalaya Mukul Wasnik, MPCC president DD Lapang and Shillong MP Vincent H Pala,” Sten informed, adding that after the election campaign in Jowai she will leave for another election campaign in Tura in West Garo Hills.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Raj Babbar will campaign for the Congress at Khliehriat on Monday at 10:30 am. Babbar along with Wasnik, Pala, and Lapang will campaign for Shitlang Pale and Amos Dkhar who are contesting from the Sutnga-Saipung and Khliehriat constituencies respectively.
