Congress downplays charge on Hek

SHILLONG: Following charges of violation of the model code of conduct by Congress candidate from Pynthorumkhrah, AL Hek, on the last day of campaigning on Thursday, the Pynthorumkhrah Block Congress Committee has said that the allegation was uncalled for.

“It was not mentioned in the permission given for the rally by the Returning Officer that a gap of 200 metres should be maintained after every three vehicles in the convoy,” the Pynthorumkhrah Block Congress Committee said In a statement issued on Friday.

Meanwhile, two persons Kedar Blah and Dinesh Boro were arrested on Friday evening for circulating appeals of Pynthorumkhrah Congress candidate.
