JOWAI: This times again, a musical chair of sorts for the post of the Chief Executive Member has started in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) among Congress Members including Khliehtyrshi MDC, Madonbai Rymbai and JU Nongrum to replace CEM, Lamdibok Sumer.
Sources informed that the move to replace Lamdibok Sumer started soon after the JHADC Chairman summoned the Budget Session from March 12.
This is the second attempt to remove Lamdibok Sumer from the post of CEM. On November last year, there was a move to replace him with Khliehtyrshi MDC, Madonbai Rymbai but Sumer remained as the CEM as Rymbai has the support of only few Congress MDCs.
Members of the JHADC have always been fighting for the CEM post. In 2011 Hambertus Nongtdu was replaced by Lamdibok Sumer and due to differences among the Congress members who were divided between Sumer and Nongtdu, the Assembly Cabinet Meeting had put the JHADC under Administrative Rules. Sumer regained the CEM status after 5 months Administrative Rules in November 2011
