NONGPOH: Umroi legislator Ngaitlang Dhar, filed an FIR against three persons- G.S Shadap, C.L Masharing and Donald Syiemiong – after he received a threat letter from a nondescript outfit called the Ri-Bhoi National Liberation Front (RBNLF).

The trio- Shadap, Masharing and Syiemiong – who appeared before the Bhoirymbong outpost after being summoned by the police on the basis of Dhar’s FIR, claimed that the legislator was targeting them for not supporting him in the recently concluded Assembly polls.

Interestingly, despite the letter being signed by RBNLF chairman JJ Lapang and general secretary BL Syiem, Dhar lodged the complaint against the three mentioned persons alleging their involvement.

However, sources alleged that Dhar was being blackmailed by Syiemiong, who possessed a video with improper content which could be used against the legislator.

Shadap and Masharing denied involvement in any wrongdoing and lambasted Dhar for resorting to degrading methods to frame them. Meanwhile, the Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM), Ri-Bhoi District condemned the FIR lodged by the Umroi legislator against the three, terming his allegations as baseless.
