Anganwadi workers honoured

SHILLONG: In recognition of the outstanding performance of the Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers of East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi, the department of Social Welfare honoured the recipients with state level award 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 and district incentive award for 2011-2012 at the Anganwadi training centre (AWTC) here on Friday.

The recipients of the state level award 2010-2011 for Anganwadi workers included Battimai Syiem of Madan Iingsyiem Anganwadi Centre, Mylliam ICDS project and Swilinda Thangkhiew of Wahsyngon Anganwadi Centre, Jirang ICDS project. The state level award 2011-2012 for Anganwadi workers went to Aimon Dkhar of Laittyra Anganwadi Centre, Shella Bholaganj ICDS project and Boisani D Sangma of Pilangkatta Anganwadi Centre, Umling ICDS project.

The Anganwadi workers who received the district incentives award 2011-12 included Phiarmai Kharsohnoh of Mawlai Mawroh I Anganwadi centre, Mylliem ICDS project, Bidaris Shabong of Wahnongkseh Anganwadi Centre, Mawphlang ICDS project, Synsharhun Khongthaw of Mawlyndun Anganwadi centre, Pynursla ICDS project and Plinda Sun of Umbir Anganwadi centre, Umsning ICDS project.

The Anganwadi helpers who bagged the district incentives award 2011-12 included Wartodis Kharumnuid of Mawutieng Anganwadi centre, Mawryngkneng ICDS project, Pynbhalang Suting of Thynroit ‘B’ Anganwadi centre, Mawkynrew ICDS project, Biolin Phanbuh of Jingthang U Bot Anganwadi centre, Shella Bholaganj ICDS project and B Lyngdoh of Umsong Anganwadi centre, Jirang ICDS project.

Citation and cash award to the recipients was distributed by the director of Social Welfare, HM Shangpliang.
