Missing driver found dead

SHILLONG: The State police has recovered the dead body of Arobindo Das who was carrying cash amounting to Rs. 1,04,00,000 in a Bolero Camper (ML-05H-1058) from Pomlum village under Mawsynram police station.

It may be mentioned that one Deepyojyoti Paul lodged a complaint on March 23 that his Bolero Camper (ML-05H-1058) containing Rs. 1,04,00,000, being driven by Arobindo Das went missing on the way from Shillong to Borsora.

It was also stated that the vehicle was last seen at Lyngiong village.

However, the police website on Thursday read, further report received indicated that dead body of the missing person was recovered from Pomlum village under Mawsynram Police Station.

East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang informed that the dead body with the vehicle was found at a cliff near Pomlum.

The SP also confirmed that the driver was murdered and the money has gone missing.
