Girl abused
Nilofar Shaheen lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on March 29 around 9.10 pm, one Danish Waquar Quresh (27) indecently abused her sister, Neha Nary, manhandled her brother, Shahnawy Ahmed at Lumdiengjri, Shillong. He also threatened them with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.
Attempted rape on minors
lOn March 29 around 7 pm, one Jusis Nongkhlaw (48) attempted to rape a minor girl aged 3 years at Mawianglah village (EKH). Police arrested the accused.
lBelina Barman lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on March 28 around 9.30 pm, her husband viz., Brijesh Barman attempted to rape one minor girl (12) at Rngi Rynjah, Shillong.
Road accident
On Mar. 29 around 6.15 pm, an accident took place between one motorcycle (ML-05D-0035) driven by Boby Singh (17) and one local taxi (ML-05C-9907) driven by Brisingha Jamatia (23) at Goraline, Shillong. As a result, the rider and the pillion rider, Kishan Singh (17) sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong where the MO on duty declared the pillion rider brought dead.
Body recovered
lAn unknown vehicle ran over an unknown person on March 29 at 3.30 am near Rani Motors junction as a result of which he died on the spot. The dead body is kept at the Shillong Civil Hospital and the age of the person is around 40 years and seems to be a tribal. The concerned relatives are requested to contact the police control room.
Theft
lOn March 28 night, unknown miscreants stole six Suction Hose pipes valued around Rs. 66,000 from Ladrymbai Fire Station (EJH).
lOn the night of March 28, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero Jeep (ML-04A-5441) belonging to Lemshwa Lyngdoh from Lumshnong (EJH).
lJamres Rymbai and two others lodged a complaint at Saipung PS that on March 24 night, one Jelmis Paslein blocked a portion of their coalmine at Briwar (EJH) and stole one drilling machine and other equipments. The accused threatened their labourers with dire consequences.
lK. Prasad, MPS, Dy. SP (HQ), East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that one local taxi (ML-05D-5613) which was seized in connection with Laitumkhrah PS Caseand kept at Police Reserve, Shillong was found missing.
Domestic violence
lPinky Rose R. Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that in the past her husband, Pratapsing K. Marak abused and harassed her. On March 26 around 8.30 pm, he threatened her and other family members with dire consequences at Upper Chandmari, Tura (WGH).
lPratima M. Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that her husband, Miman Sangma had tortured her mentally and physically since the past four years. He also threatened her with dire consequences at Hawakhana, Tura.
Illegal withdrawal of money
Jenifer Basaiawmoit lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on January 21 & February 21, 2013 some unknown person had fraudulently transacted with her Credit Card to the amount of Rs. 92,487.
Harrasment to truck drivers
lOn March 28 around 10.30 pm, unknown miscreants set fire to one truck (WB-41E-7763) which was seized by Police and kept at MUDA Parking Lot, Shillong. As a result, the truck was partially damaged.
lAnuj Basumatary lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on March 27 around 2 am, unidentified miscreants (4/5) gave the driver of truck (PB-05V-9105) intoxicating drinks at Sonapur (EJH), and later stole the truck. The unconscious driver was abandoned at the PO.
lOn March 29 around 3.10 pm, unidentified miscreants stabbed Adwen Warjri, handyman of truck (AS-01X-8591) with a sharp weapon while he was sleeping inside the truck at Mawryngkneng (EKH). As a result, he sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong where he succumbed to his injuries.
One injured
On March 27 at about 3.30 pm, one truck (JK-02AT-1185) knocked down Mohssen (25) handyman of truck (HR-55V-8795) at Jud Cement Ltd., Lumshnong (EJH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CHC Khliehriat, where he succumbed to his injuries.
