One killed

On April 8 at around 12.15 am, miscreants numbering around seven assaulted one Ram Terod Yadav with a dao at his residence at Sutnga Road, East Jaintia Hills and looted Rs. 3,50,000. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CHC Khliehriat where he succumbed to his injuries.

lOn April 6 at around 7.30 pm, Living Dkhar stabbed one Formi Dkhar (22) with a knife at Moolamanoh in East Jaintia Hills. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the way to CHC, Khliehriat.

Arrest

In the Pynthorbah arson case, where a KSU leader was arrested for trying to burn a shop, two other accused Richel Berth Rumnong (19) and Kitdor Rumnong (27), both residents of Pynthorbah, were arrested on April 9.

Gun recovered

Sailo Sutnga, Range Officer (T), Umkiang Range lodged a complaint at Umkiang police outpost that on April 8, his staff while on patrol duty recovered one country-made SBBL gun from Dona Beat. Later, the gun was handed over to Police at Umkiang police outpost.

Theft

On April 7, miscreants stole grocery items valued around Rs. 2,50,000 and cash of Rs. 25,000 from the shops of Durga Kant Poddar and Surendra Singh at Rongjeng Bazar, East Garo Hills.

lOn the night of April 5, miscreants broke into the Rhino Pre-Primary School at 101 Area, Upper Shillong and stole Rs. 700 besides damaging office files.

Impersonation

Tyngshain Sohlang lodged a complaint at Laban police station that on April 5 one Prakash Nonglyer impersonated as a worker of MeECL and asked Rs. 1,200 for electricity connection to his house at Mylliem Nongbet in East Khasi Hills. Police arrested the accused.

Missing

Ashok Kumar Rai lodged a complaint at Madanrting police station that on April 4 at around 6.45 am, his minor daughter Roshni Kumari (14) was found missing from their residence at M.E.S Quarters, Happy Valley, Shillong.

Threat

On April 4, Ritmon Myrmen (19) created trouble and also threatened his family members in their house at Ratacherra in East Jaintia Hills.

Overcharged

A complaint was lodged at Madanriting Traffic Branch on Tuesday against one erring driver of a local taxi (ML 05 G 6013), identified as Habarbin Rynjah of Laitkor for overcharging a passenger. Action as per law has been taken against the erring driver.

Criminal case

On April 4 at around 3 am, one Maruti Van Ambulance (AS-11BC-0601) driven by Jishu Das dashed against a truck at Riatturim in West Jaintia Hills. As a result, the driver of the ambulance and one patient., Elangbam Homen Singh sustained injuries and shifted to Civil Hospital , Jowai, where Elangbam Homen Singh succumbed to his injuries. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
