20 residential schools in State

SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Education, Prof RC Laloo, on Wednesday informed that the State Government is contemplating to set up 20 residential schools across the State.

“We have earmark Rs 5 crore for each school,” Prof Laloo said while replying to a question raised by UDP legislator Dr Donkupar Roy during Question Hour in the Assembly on Wednesday.

To a supplementary question, he said that the infrastructures which have been proposed in the residential schools includes hostels for both boys and girls, quarters for both teaching and non-teaching staff, playing ground and a host of other infrastructures.
