SHILLONG: After three days of indefinite hunger strike, the qualified but unemployed Grade-IV candidates, under the banner of the Association of Qualified Grade-IV-2011, have temporarily suspended their ongoing agitations.

The indefinite hunger strike was called off on Thursday night after East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal informed the agitators that the legal aspects of the matter are being examined by the Government.

General secretary of the Association, Hughbert Sun, on Friday said, “We have agreed to their request to call off the hunger strike but we want our demands to be met before April 30 or else we will again resort to agitation.”
