SHILLONG: The South Shillong Legislator Sanbor Shullai on Saturday clarified that he had not threatened any one as far as the issue of the organization which acts as a Panchayat in Madanriting is concerned.

Reacting to news reports in this regard, Shullai said that what he said in the Assembly was that he proposed to the local MLA Ardent Basawiawmoit to request anybody to come forward and file complaint against the bogus organization since Panchayats do not have any role to play in areas under sixth schedule except in the cantonment and European wards.

Shullai said had also urged the Government to sanction the pending scheme for the construction of link road from Jackson Trace road upto Lumdorbar PWD existing road and the construction of the road to all religious cemetery grounds at Lawsohtun.

According to Shullai, other issues he took up included sanctioning of indoor halls, issue of BPL cards, handing over of defence land to civil authorities, timely issuing of ST/SC/OBC certificates, and building sanction by KHADC.
