Inter-school athletic meet to be held

SHILLONG: Inter-school athletic meets will be held in South West Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills next month, organised by the District Sports Office representing both districts and all schools are encouraged to take part.

This will be the first ever such event for South West Khasi Hills as a separate district. The meet will be held on May 15-17 in Mawten, Mawkyrwat. The last date for registration is May 2.

The West Khasi Hills sports meet will be held later on May 22-24 in Nongstoin. The last date for registration is May 9.

There are a wide range of disciplines to be contested, from running events (including 100m, 200m, 2000m, 5000m), long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus, javelin as well as relay races.

The disciplines are open to both boys and girls, but are subject to specific age requirements.
