TURA: Reacting to the recent statement made by the Deputy Chief Minister & Education Minister, RC Laloo that SET passed candidates need not be compulsorily employed by the Government, the Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), Garo Hills Zone expressed its strong condemnation towards Laloo’s statement.

“SET exams are conducted in the line of NET exams whereby NET passed candidates are immediately absorbed by different Universities” stated Pritam Marak, President of FKJGP, Garo Hills Zone. He opined that it is absurd and illogical that SET passed candidates have to resort to agitations to get employed.

He also stated that if SET passed candidates are not employed, there is no point of conducting examinations.
