BANGALORE: Rangdajied United FC continued its dominance over Bimal Ghosh trained Mumbai Tigers, beating them 1-0 in a second leg match of the final phase of the 2nd Division I-League at Bangalore Football Stadium here on Friday.

In the first leg match, Rangdajied had humbled the Tigers 3-1.

With this win the Shillong side has garnered 10 points and shares the second place with Bhawanipore in the standings. After a goalless first half, Rangdajied took the field charged up after the breather and went on to score the lone goal of the match in the 48th minute when Jeribe Kelechi tapped one to skipper Restom Khriam who set the ball home.

It could have been a bigger win for Rangdajied had Babatunde Ayomide converted the spot kick and four other chances that came his way.

In the 54th minute referee Anthony Elvis of Goa awarded a spot kick after he caught Karan Atwal bringing down Korean Shin Hojun inside the 24 yard arena. Babatunde took the kick only to hit the bar.

In the 83rd minute Rangdajied custodian Shambu Mistry made a brilliant save to deny Indian team dead ball specialist N P Pardeep from finding the nets.

Much to the surprise of the crowed, fourth official MB Santosh Kumar of Kerala gave an eight-minute injury time at the end of the stipulated 90 minutes. However, that did not make a difference to the result.

In an all Shillong encounter Rangdajied will take on Langsning FC on Tuesday.
