Rangbah Shnong presses for functional dept in new district

 SHILLONG: The Synjuk Rangbah Shnong, East Jaintia Hills District has asked the state government to make departments like District Transport Officer (DTO), District Sports Officer (DSO), Registration of Society and others functional in this newly created district.

The SRS which met recently at Khliehriat West to discuss on issues pertaining to this new district stressed on the need to have these departments and more staffs in various government departments in the district to ensure a smooth functioning of the district administration.

The SRS has also asked the government to make all the pending payments to all the job card holders at the same time, not to change the method of maintaining the bank accounts of the job card holders. They also demanded a revision in the list of the BPL.

In accordance with the functioning of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), the SRS asked the council to put in place a department within the district council like the Revenue Department to keep track of the land documents and others.

Moreover, the congregation of rangbah shnong has urged the owners of private vehicles who used their cars for commercial basis to get them registered and attain a permit.
