ANVC-B militant nabbed with weapon and extortion money

 TURA: A militant belonging to the ANVC-B outfit has been caught red handed while extorting money from traders of Williamnagar market on Friday night.

A team of Williamnagar police and CRPF personnel nabbed the militant while he was leaving the market with the extorted money. He was caught with a 9 mm pistol with five live rounds of ammunition and money amounting to sixty thousand rupees which had been taken at gunpoint from traders and shop keepers.

“He has confessed to be a cadre of the ANVC-B run by Rimpu Marak as its Chairman,” said Williamnagar Police.

The militant has been identified as Wesfield C Marak (27) alias Dakchak of Sampalgre village in Williamnagar.
