SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong FC have confirmed the signing of two new players from Manipur, Ongnam Milan Singh and Subhash Singh, with the aim of boosting their roster ahead of the next season.

The 21-year-old Milan Singh is a midfielder who played for and captained Pailan Arrows. He has signed a two-year contract with the Lajong, according to the club’s website.

He began his youth career with East Bengal before joining the Arrows in 2010.

Milan was made captain for the 2012-13 season and scored five goals in the course of the year.

The youngster has also made six appearances for the India Under-23 team and has caught the attention of the football fraternity in the country.

According to an interview he gave to a football website, Milan said that he had also received offers from Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting and Churchill Brothers, but picked SLFC.

Meanwhile, striker Subhash Singh joins SLFC from Pune FC on a one-year contract.

He scored four times in 14 games, but did not see much action in the second half of the season under coach Derrick Pereira.
