Suicide attempt

A 40-year-old man attempted suicide by hanging himself at Rangira near Don Bosco College, Tura. He was shifted to Tura Civil Hospital.

Body recovered

On May 22 morning, the decomposed body of one Silnam N Marak (22) was recovered from a jungle at Mansinggre under Bajengdoba PS (NGH). It is suspected that the deceased was murdered by unknown miscreants. Investigation is in progress.

Threatening case

lOne Bron Surong lodged a complaint at Amlarem PS that on May 20 night, one Hat Surong threatened him with dire consequences at Amlarem (WJH). Matter is under enquiry.

lOne Wis Manner, Secretary of Mynthning village, lodged a complaint at Saipung PS that on May 18, Begin Paslein, Hetmon Manner, Prostar Tangliang, Jelwis Paslein, Hosta Salahe and others went to the Mynthning Village Forest, felled the standing trees and removed them. When the complainant along with others intervened into the matter, the accused persons threatened them with dire consequences.

lOne Sailo Sutnga, Range Forest Officer lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on May 18 at around 9:30 pm, two Home Guard Volunteers Carles Sutnga and Roibok Laloo went to Ratacherra Forest Beat Office, damaged the glass panes of the office and also threatened the Beat Officer with dire consequences.

lOne Protat Tangliang and Begin Paslein jointly lodged a complaint at Saipung PS that on May 7, three persons, Wolbing Paslein, Wis Manner and Chrong Syrti accompanied by Police from Saipung PS, went to the coal quarry of the complainants at Mynthing village (EJH) and asked to stop activities involving extraction of coal in the area. They also threatened the complainants with dire consequences.

Assault

One Banjop Suiam lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on May 19 at around 7:30 pm, while he was filling petrol in his vehicle at Ladrymbai Petrol Pump (WJH), four Constables of Ladrymbai OP forcibly entered the vehicle, assaulted the complainant and asked him to drop them at Ladrymbai OP. Later, Rs. 10,000 was also found missing from the vehicle.

In a counter FIR, the Constable M Narzary lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on May 19 at around 8:25 pm, while he along with three staff of Ladrymbai OP were executing patrolling at Ladrymbai (EJH), they detected one Maruti Alto car (ML-05F-9184) with tinted glasses and driven by one Banjop Suiam. On checking the car, some blood stains were found inside the vehicle but the driver challenged the Police and threatened them with dire consequences.

Theft

On May 19 night, unknown miscreants stole grocery items valued around Rs. 1,95,920 from a shop belonging to Md. Nur Islam at Gurban (WGH). Matter is under enquiry.

Fake certificate issued

A.S Mukhim, EAC (Election) of East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on May 15, one Zoreina Sangi Boro, produced a fake birth certificate at his office.

Cheated case

One Pradip Deb of Barbeque Restaurant, Shillong lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that two employees of the Restaurant Saral Jamatia and Bimal Dev Barma cheated him of Rs. 41,200.
