Abduction

One Bikas Kumar lodged a complaint at Saipung PS that on May 22 around 8 pm, unidentified miscreants kidnapped his father Chandra Bhushan Singh (45). On May 23 around 5 am, he received a telephone call in which the caller demanded a ransom of Rs 15 lakh for the release of the kidnapped victim.

Body recovered

The decomposed body of one missing person Teibor Kharbteng (38) was recovered from Upper Shillong on May 24. Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver sent to CH, Shillong for post mortem examination.

Vehicle stolen

Unknown miscreants stole a car tape from a vehicle (ML-10-2016) belonging to one Roffele Kharkongor, which was parked at Police Bazar, Shillong on May 23.

Attempted theft

Nipirius D. Sangma lodged a complaint at Ranikor PS that on May 21 around 10 pm, Marcony Thongni, Wanbor Kharlyngdoh and six others broke into her house at Phutkroh village (SWKH) with an intention to commit crime. However, when they raised an alarm, the miscreants fled away.

Extortion

Kristina Siangshai lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on May 19 around 9.30 pm, Marshal Biam and his accomplices demanded Rs 1 lakh from her son Bita Siangshai at Ladrymbai (EJH). Later, they assaulted him and took away Rs 1,500.
