Meghalaya boys reach sub-junior final

 SHILLONG: The Meghalaya sub-junior team reached the final of the Coca Cola Sub-Junior National Football Championship with a convincing 6-0 victory over Karnataka in Mumbai on Sunday.

Speaking over the phone from Mumbai, the team’s manager, Kiran Joshi, informed that Reson Malngiang was again at his prolific best, recording yet another hat-trick for Meghalaya.

Malgniang had scored four goals in Meghalaya’s 10-0 win over Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

Foster Lyngdoh, Marchsterfield Marbaniang and Baniengskhem Nongrum scored a goal each to complete the rout.

Meghalaya will now meet Orissa in the final on Tuesday.
