Woman found dead at home

 SHILLONG: The police on Monday evening recovered the body of a middle aged woman from her home in Laban.

The victim has been identified as Debjani Khan (42) and she stays alone in her house. According to East Khasi Hills SP M Khar-krang, she was reported missing on Saturday as her house was locked.

However when police broke the door of the house on Monday evening, her body was found inside the house. Sources said that the body was lying beneath a heap of clothes.

The SP informed that the lady was murdered and accordingly police is taking up a case of murder. “We have started our investigation into the matter,” SP said.

The husband and the son of the victim reportedly work in Pune.
