Agartala: Indian border security force (BSF) has denied the plea of its Bangladeshi counterpart over the release of a former Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel rather BSF handed him over to police with the complain of illegally entry on Saturday evening.
According to DIG, B S Rawat of Tripura frontier of BSF, Indian villagers of Rahimpur in Western border along Tripura and Bangladesh caught hold of one Milon Husain, who served the Bangladesh Army for two years allegedly when he was entering into the house of a villager on search of drugs.
BSF jawans rushed to the spot and rescued Milon. Soon after taking up the matter with BGB, they claimed Milon as their source and experienced in Bangladesh army.
BGB demanded release of Milon as goodwill gesture at commandant level meeting at night following the incident but BSF refused to release him because he had illegally entered into India without any authority, DIG Rawat said. He was handed over to police and now Milon is in police custody. Both the BSF and BGB took extra precaution on Sunday along the border. (UNI)
