World Env day

lThe HNYF will celebrate the World Environment Day by organising awareness programme on June 5 at Tirot Singh Memorial Club Pyndeng Umiong, Mairang in collaboration with the Forest Mairang Range.

lThe NSS of St Edmund’s College in collaboration with N.O.W Eco-Club, St Edmund’s College will observe the World Environment Day on June 5 at the College Campus. Various programmes have been chalked out for the commemoration of the theme ” Think, Eat, Save’ which include Sit and Draw Competition for Special School Children, Open Quiz, Photography Competition, Slogan Writing and Poster competition and many others.

Workshop

A workshop on ‘Next generation sequencing, Bioinformatics and data analysis’ will be held on June 17-21 under the aegis of DBT-sponsored NER Twinning project ‘Next generation sequencing and genome information of parasites biodiversity of medico-veterinary significance in NE India’.

Seminar

As of the platinum jubilee celebrations, St Mary’s College is organising a one-day seminar on youth development on June 6 on the theme-‘Illuminating new horizons’.

One male person (40 approx) who was admitted in Shillong Civil Hospital on May 27 for his medical treatment with the help of Lumdiengjri PS after he was found lying at Motphran passed away on June 1. The deceased is 5ft 9in with fair complexion and short, black hair and he was wearing a white T-shirt, black long pant. The deceased is presently kept at morgue room of civil hospital for identification after post mortem examination.
