SHILLONG: A two-day workshop on ‘Language Practice-Embedded Classroom Routines for the Elementary English Class’ organised with an aim to advocate the ‘Right to Quality Programmes in Early Childhood Education and Development’ concluded here on Tuesday.
Organised by the Association for Early Childhood Education & Development (AECED), Meghalaya in collaboration with the English Language Teachers Association of India, Meghalaya (ELTAI) and the Regional English Language Office (RELO), US Embassy in Delhi, the workshop which was conducted at Pearly Dew Sec School in Jaiaw, saw the participation of the teachers of 10 member schools of AECED.
During the inaugural address, Secretary of Education, F Kharkongor, who is also the State Project Director of SSA, highlighted the six Es of teaching: Enlighten, Experiential, Experiment, Explore, Expression and Evaluation.
The AECED was established with the intention of bringing together professionals in the field of early childhood in the interest of the children.
