Duping charges against Pala Group

JOWAI: The All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organization (AJYWO) has lodged a complaint against the Pala Group Construction Company Limited on Tuesday for allegedly duping customers of lakhs of rupees.

Founded by one Ioannis Pala, the construction company has collected the money from residents of Jaintia Hills in the form of savings with a promise to pay back the whole amount on maturation along with high interest.

The company has also appointed many unemployed youth and jobless women promising them commission as high as 25 per cent.

However, the company failed to pay the amount to the depositors on maturity.

“We have received several complaints from the customers following which we have lodged the FIR today”, AJYWO President, MHK Dhar said.

Sources informed that the company has failed to pay the payment amounting Rs 75 to 80 lakhs to its customers.
