SHILLONG: The Garo Students Union, Western zone has demanded immediate termination of DSP Bijay Chettri while accusing him of being the main culprit who shielded Nurul Islam, the absconding police officer accused of raping two minor girls.
In a statement issued here recently, GSU president Western zone Jappindro Marak alleged that the DSP is responsible for the escape of Islam as per the revelations of three constables and an assistant officer in charge.
While urging the Government to adopt zero tolerance towards the two officials, the GSU also alleged that Islam had molested many minor girls and women earlier.
