Langsning outclass Mawlai to secure first U-19 SPL win

SHILLONG: Joey Khongwir pounded five goals to propel Langsning FC to a massive 8-1 win against Mawlai SC in their U-19 Shillong Premiere League match at the JN Stadium on Thursday. Joey scored his first goal as early as the fourth minute followed by another two minutes later.

With the score reading 6-1 at half time it looked virtually impossible for Mawlai to make a comeback. Joey scored his five goals in the first 27 minutes while Lenningstar Kynter added one more in the 45th. Mawlai’s Samborlang Nongbri score a consolation goal in the 32nd minute. The second half produced two more goals for Langsning through Raymond Kharbuli (50th) and Damehun Syih (64th).

Mawlai now have two losses in as many games while Langsning have three points from two matches.

On Wednesday, Royal Wahingdoh FC played out a goalless draw with Rangdajied United FC. On Friday, Malki SC will face Nangkiew Irat SC at 4:00pm.
