PHED reaches out to apprehensive NGOs

 SHILLONG: In its bid to clear the apprehensions of NGOs over the water supply project at Daribokgre village, the PHED officials on Friday held a meeting with the protestors in Garo Hills.

Commissioner of division for Garo Hills, PW Ingty informed that the meeting with JAC was quite fruitful as they were pretty positive about resolving the matter.

The NGOs are opposing the project under apprehensions that the project would affect the riverbed downstream.

According to Ingty power presentations on the benefits of the project was made before the JAC.

“They expressed their apprehension and they would discuss the matter again before coming to their stand,” he said.
