Attempt to kidnap

One Megha A Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on June 19 around 7 pm, his daughter boarded an Auto-rickshaw (ML-08B-6893) from Tura Bazar for Araimile, Tura (WGH). On reaching at Araimile, the driver did not stop and instead drove off along with the victim, who had to jump out from the Auto and sustained injuries.

Assault

On June 21 at around 5:45 pm, one Kresland Lyngkhoi (50) was assaulted by three persons, Nestor Thongni (42), Seberious K Bani (36) and Phroelin Dkhar (35) at Umdohlun (SWKH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CHC Mawkyrwat. Police arrested the accused persons.

Molestation

A woman lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on June 21 evening, one Md. Shahid Ahmed (27) attempted to sexually molest her minor daughters aged eight and nine years. Police arrested the accused.

Stones pelted

On June 21 at around 5:30 pm, unknown miscreants pelted stones at civilian at Nongmensong causing head injury to one Dari Sumer (16).

Illegal transaction

One Ferming Marbaniang lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on December 24, 2012 he had lost his HDFC ATM Card at Police Bazar and on January 12, 2013, the Bank was informed to deactivate the ATM Card. However, on checking his account, he found that unknown persons had transacted with the ATM Card between December 26, 2012 and January 10, 2013 amounting to Rs. 31,371.

Arrest

Police arrested one Silnat N. Sangma (19) in connection with a dacoity case under Bajengdoba PS.

Immigrant apprehended

During checking of vehicle at Khliehriat CP, Police apprehended one Bangladeshi national, Kabir Mia (23) for not possessing valid documents.

Body recovered

On June 20 at around 2:15 pm, one body of a newly born female baby was recovered from behind the LOB Building, GS Road. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
