NONGPOH: The CORP, Byrnihat Circle, has demanded immediate upgradation of Pilingkata Health Sub Centre to a primary health centre (PHC) to cater to the patients of the areas.
The CORP went for an inspection of the health sub centre in Pilingkata recently where they interacted with the local people who came for availing treatment as well as with the staff at the sub centre.
During the interaction, they learnt that the supply of medicines to the sub centre was insufficient as the quantity of medicine was less compared to the population of the areas under its jurisdiction.
Moreover, the indent of medicines is done only once a month from the Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
There were only two staff at the sub centre to look after the various demands of the patients who come from far flung villages to avail treatment.
Stating that the sub centre was located in a remote area and not easily accessible to many people, the CORP demanded its upgradation to a PHC and shifting of the same to Umtyrnga which is centrally located and would be more convenient for the people.

NONGSTOIN: An agreement has been reached between the NRLTODA (Rambrai Unit) and the Tourist Maxi Cab Owners’ and Drivers’ Association (TMCODA) (Mawthar and Rambrai Unit) on the dispute of fare collection, following a meeting held at Rambrai on Tuesday.
Prior to the stalemate, the NRLTODA and the TMCODA had a disagreement over the fare between Nongstoin and Rambrai. The NRLTODA (Rambrai Unit) shot off a complaint letter to the District Transport Officer, who intervened and directed the TMCODA to refrain from plying passengers between Nongstoin and Rambrai as Maxi cabs were permitted to ply distances beyond 30 km, while the distance between Nongstoin and Rambrai was only 20 km.
During the meeting on Tuesday, both parties agreed to decide on a common fare for both taxis and maxi cabs.
