SMU varsity fest concludes

SHILLONG: The week-long Varsity Fest 2013 of the Sikkim Manipal University, Shillong Centre which concluded on Saturday witnessed events which included Mr and Miss SMU Contest and documentary screening produced by the final year students of Journalism and Mass Communication department held here at U Soso Tham Auditorium.

Various competitive events such as basketball, table tennis, cricket, football, tug of war, badminton, chess, carom, treasure hunt, essay writing, painting, singing and dancing were conducted during the week long fest. Four documentaries were screened on the concluding day which included-tiny feet, tender heart, the traders-on the road beyond the border, the green project-my world, my responsibility and the missionaries remoulding lives.

The programme was attended by Social Welfare minister Deborah Marak as the chief guest along with renowned artist of the state, Lou Majaw and Munish Singh besides others.
