SHILLONG: The State Government is yet to receive any official intimation from the Centre on the appointment of a new Governor to the State.

Official sources from the Governor’s Secretariat informed that the incumbent Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary completed his tenure on Sunday.

When asked if the Government has proposed any name for appointment as the next Governor, the sources said the State Government is yet to propose any name.

“We are waiting for an official communication from the Centre,” the sources said.

Meanwhile, the sources informed that Mooshahary would continue to hold the post until a new Governor is appointed.

Mooshahary took over as the Governor of Meghalaya on July 1, 2008.
