Megh Icon IV finals on July 6

 SHILLONG: With an aim to create awareness for the people of the State on the subject of HIV and AIDS, The Meghalaya AIDS Control Society (MACS) is organizing the Meghalaya Icon where the winner will be the brand ambassador and spokesperson of all HIV and AIDS activities of MACS for a period of one year besides winning a prize money of Rs 1 lakh.

The Grand Finale of the Stand Alone Event of the Red Ribbon Super Campaign-Meghalaya Icon IV will be held on July 6 at Laban Sports Club ground from 12pm onwards. The Grand finale will witness finalists from Khasi, Jaintia and Hills vying for the coveted title of the Meghalaya Icon 4.

Cash awards of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 will be awarded to the winner, the 1st runner up and the 2nd runner up respectively. Besides, Rs 10,000 will also be given to the best singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer, rhythm or keyboard player plus the opportunity to perform at all the events and festivals that the MACS sponsors throughout the state.

Parliamentary Secretary incharge of agriculture Dr Celestine Lyngdoh will be present as the chief guest.
