Association
A new sport association called the Shillong Hockey Association formed on May 14 aimed at developing and promoting the game of hockey within the city and East Khasi Hills. Their objective is to improve and enhance the skills of the youth with advance training and infrastructure.
Birth Anniversary
The Tibetan Community Shillong will celebrate the 78th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. The Tibetan community in Shillong will gather at Upper Lumparing Monastery for prayer and celebration.
Admission
The Regional College of Physical Education, Panisagar, North Tripura has invited application for admission to 1st year B.P.Ed course for the year 2013-2014. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from any recognized university and preference will be given to candidates having physical education as elective subject in the Bachelor’s degree.
Competition
Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong will organise the 39th annual cultural competition which will start from July 6 and will continue every Saturday and Sunday till 11 August. Around 3000 students from schools and colleges will participate in the competition and the tentative date for prize distribution is August 17 at Ramakrishna Mission, Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Quinton Road.
