SHILLONG: The employees of the district courts in the State on Monday staged a day-long protest opposing the resolution passed by the High Court which seeks to transfer the staff of the subordinate district judiciary (both ministerial and non-ministerial) from one district court to another. The employees also submitted a memorandum to the Registrar General, High Court of Meghalaya, W Diengdoh.

In the memorandum, the employees said that the resolution is not applicable on the employees who are appointed by the District Selection Committee and other appointing agencies of the Government.

The employees therefore urged the Registrar to reconsider the resolution.
