Sec 144 CrPC

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills has promulgated Section 144 CrPC prohibiting any person or group of persons from taking out any rally within a 500-metre radius of the Meghalaya Secretariat building in view of information received that some organisations are planning to hold a public rally to the Meghalaya Secretariat building.

Competition

Shillong Christian Youth Organization and Conference will organize a gospel singing competition at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture, Bivar Road on Saturday (July 27) from 12 noon onwards.

The All India Poetess Conference (AIPC) Meghalaya Chapter will hold the 4th Meghalaya Poetry Competition 2013 for schools, colleges and the general public. The public can obtained the entry form from Adon Books Corner, Police Bazar, opposite Old Assembly Building and from Khasi Book Stall, Room No-38, Synod Complex, Mawkhar.

Function

Synod College, Shillong will organise the Graduation Day 2013 on Friday (July 26) at 1 am at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw.

Free surgery

The BSF Meghalaya Frontier is organizing a free surgical rectification of cleft lip and palate under the aegis of Border Security Force Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) in association with Smile Train & Rotary Club of Calcutta Victoria on Friday (July 26). The project named ‘Darpan’ was initially launched on January 31 at Kolkata by BSF Director General Subhash Joshi.

Dialogue

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma will inaugurate the dialogue with partners on Market Access Initiatives, Technologies and Opportunities organized by the Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship at Yojana Bhawan on July 26 at 10 am.
