Drunken driving

SHILLONG: Police have asked the travel agencies to ensure that the drivers of the buses do not consume alcohol. Citing a case, the East Khasi Hills SP, M. Kharkrang said that during the checking of drunken drivers, one Lalnatdila , driver of bus belonging to Network Travels was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol at 9.30 pm on July 24. The driver, who was detained was released on Thursday.

The SP also asked the SPTS buses not to stop at undesignated places which cause traffic snarls in the city.
