SHILLONG: Association of Qualified Candidates, Grade IV 2011, East Khasi Hills has demanded the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) to remove all the backdoor appointments within the given deadline of August 5.

In a statement issued here on Monday, association general secretary Skhemborlang Pyngrope said that following the RTI filed by the association in the various branch of the Health department which includes Civil Hospital, Ganesh Das Hospital, District Health and Medical Officer (DMHO) and RP Chest Hospital, they have found that there were 100 plus backdoor appointments in the department.

Pyngrope informed that they have met several senior officers of the Health and Family Welfare department to point out the RTI findings.

“We have also gone to meet the DHS but she refused to make any commitment on the demand to remove all the backdoor appointment.”

“She (DHS) instead asked us to meet the senior officials in the department,” association general secretary said.

He said that they have submitted another representation to the Directorate of Health Services that she should terminate the service of all the backdoor appointments within August 5.

Recently, the association had opposed the decision of the Joint Director of Health Services in charge of Shillong Civil Hospital to regularize a total number of 49 Adhoc and temporary employees which was termed to be a clear violation of Government rules.
