Theft

* On August 8 at around 9.45 pm, Police picked up two persons, Tebaster Thabah (40) Khrawkupar Roynee (21) for fighting each other at Motphran. They were sent for medical examination at CH Shillong where the MO opined that both had sustained simple injuries, were under influence of liquor and unable to control themselves. After medical examination, they were taken to Shillong Sadar PS and kept in the lock up during the night. On August 9 at around 11.45 am, Tebestar Thabah complained that he was not feeling well. He was admitted at Civil Hospital Shillong and his sister, Isiful Thabah attended to him. But at about 2.45 pm, he succumbed to his injuries. Necessary formalities have been observed and matter is under enquiry.

* On August 9 at around 4.30 pm, six boys aged between 15 and 18 years, under influence of liquor clashed with six other boys, Mohsin Ansari (20), Shashi Ghosh (19), Basu Sewa (19), Asif Sheikh (20) and two boys (17) at near Payal Cinema Hall, Thana Road. As a result, Asif Sheikh sustained injuries. In this connection, Police arrested two boys.

Extortion

On August 7, Z.J. Sangma, Chairman, Tura Municipal Board lodged a complaint at Tura PS that certain individuals are collecting money from auto-rickshaws and commercial vehicles in the name of the Municipal Board at Araimile, Tura (WGH).

Assault

On August 5 around 2.45 pm, one Samial Sheikh and his accomplices looted Rs. 30,000 from Manik Chand and assaulted him near Airkata Market (WGH) causing injuries to him.

Arrest

Police arrested two persons, Md. Jamir Ali (20) and Obaidar Rahman (22) in connection with criminal breach of trust case under Khliehriat PS.
