SHILLONG: A defiant Smit held Imson to a goalless draw in front of a sizeable crowd in Saturday’s First Division match at the JN Sports Complex.

Imson, who had won their last match against Shillong United, were put to the test by a resilient Smit. The result leaves an opening for the second place in the standings as Shillong Lajong look strong at the top.

Nongthymmai good run continues

Meanwhile, Nongthymmai continued their good run with a 1-0 win over Ryntih in a Second Division tie on Saturday. Jefferson Nongrud scored the solitary goal of the match in the 19th minute.

On Monday Shillong United will take on Laitlyngkot in a First Division match at the JN Sports Complex at 4 pm whereas Riatsamthiah SC and Madan SS&CC will lock horns in the first Second Division match. The second tie will be played between Lumshyiap and Mawpat.

On the other hand, Riatsamthiah and Madan will fight for qualification in the crucial match.
