TURA: The A’chik Youth Welfare Organization (AYWO) has unearthed a major fund misuse of the State and Central Sponsored Scheme from Dalu C&RD Block in which funds to the tune of Rs 10,00,000 sanctioned for the construction of the Machangpani Higher Secondary School, Machangpani (Dalu) some 2 to 3 kilometres from proper Dalu was misused.

The truth about the fund misuse came to light when the Dalu Branch President of the AYWO filed an RTI regarding the matter and received the reply information in which it was stated that the said school received Rupees ten lakh, five lakh each from the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha (MP) Scheme through Dalu C&RD Block in the year 2011-12.

The RTI information further stated that the sanctioned amount was fully withdrawn in three installments from the said block and that the work status recorded in the Dalu Block was 100% complete. However, the AYWO informed that during a spot inspection it was found that the school building had not been completed at all and was abandoned after erection of a few concrete posts.

While expressing shock at the turn of events the AYWO has condemned the incident of corruption saying the construction of the school building was too precious for an area like Dalu as it could have catered to the desperate needs of the local youths and the student community.

It further stated that such misappropriations of fund from a school building construction was too evil to tolerate and demanded that the act be sternly dealt with and that a magisterial inquiry instituted at the earliest to bring the culprits to book.
