TURA: A section of the candidates who appeared for the recruitment written test of the Meghalaya Central Recruitment Board and were successful, have alleged that there were irregularities in the selection procedure and questioned as to why they were not selected for the personal interview although they had all passed the written test conducted prior to it.

The candidates claimed that most of them had secured marks around 270, 280 and 230 and questioned the position of candidates who scored more than themselves and were not selected but candidates with marks as low as 180, 178 and 195 were selected for the interview.

The candidates alleged that this was clearly an act of manipulation on the part of the concerned officers and urged NGOs and other organizations of the region to look into the matter.
